Product description After the Second World War, the United States Army Transportation Corps (USATC) took over a large part of the military railway logistics in West Germany. For this purpose, the USATC needed robust four-axle wagons to transport tanks, armored vehicles, and other heavy equipment within the American occupation zones and later between NATO training grounds in Europe. As American rail transport in Germany declined, many of the former USATC wagons were incorporated into the fleets of the Deutsche Bundesbahn. There they received new classifications within the later DB system, including the Rlmmp classification.
